A DAY IN THE LIFE



Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, tobacco, cannabis, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.


We are seeking an analystII in our Richmond, VA location tojoin our method development team and perform in-lab analyses of samples utilizing GC, GC/MS, LC, LC/MS and ICP/MS instrumentation. This position has a wide range of duties associated with method development, internal investigations, NCRs, and will work with the production teams on an as needed basis. The position requires strong chemistry and instrument troubleshooting skills. Strong organizational skills are a must for this position.


As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:


  • Create, or assistin the creation, of test plans, validation plans, validation reports and SOPs for methods

  • Method development

  • Perform data/statistical analysis to support Quality Control and Continuous Improvement strategies.

  • GC, GC/MS, LC, LC/MS and ICP/MS quantitative sample analysis

  • Understand the purpose of the testing and conduct troubleshooting analysis

  • Maintaining organized records of sample preparation, analysisandequipment maintenance

  • Sample and standard preparation

  • Instrument calibration and validation

  • Communicating relevant updatesand issuesin a timely manner

  • React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned

  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the Company

  • Compliance with Enthalpy's Quality Assurance Program and other policies

  • Other duties as assigned


NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS



To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily.   • BA/ BS Degree in Chemistry or Natural Science (or equivalent training) required, Master's Degree or PhD preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an analytical chemistry environment


PREFERRED SKILLS



  • Experience with Mass Hunter, MassLynx, Chromeleon software is a plus

  • Experience in Data/Statistical Analysis would be highly desirable

  • Attention to detail

  • Good organization and communication skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude/instrument troubleshooting abilities

  • Analytical thinking to solve technical problems

  • Strong Research and Development skills

  • Superior time management skills

  • CRO experience or background
