Level 4: BS+11 YRS or MS+9 YRS

Flight Test Data Processing Engineer responsible for system design, software development, and data processing in support of JSF SDD flight test activities.

The assignment will include tasks that involve software design and development, using, Visual C++, MFC and Oracle on the Windows NT and 2000 platforms.

This role is for an experienced System Administrator for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) at Patuxent River, MD supporting Development Test (DT).

The system Administrator is responsible for providing the overall on-site ALIS maintenance and support and serves as the primary point of contact for any customer questions or concerns.

Position Description

* Designs, develops, operates, maintains, and documents software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to engineering, scientific, and manufacturing requirements.

* Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and environments as data analysis tools, data displays, database development, and high speed networking.

* Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Backups, restores, and disaster recovery of the system

Hardware/system monitoring and performance tuning

* System/software/user maintenance and Maintaining system documentation

* Setting up administrator and service accounts* Installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space

* Interacting daily with users and acting as a Subject Matter Expert for the ALIS product suite

* Maintaining smooth, secure operation of multi-user computer systems through coordination with other administrative disciplines (security, database, network, and offboard mission Support)

* Training System Administrators and users on the ALIS system as needed

* Review processes/procedures, collect system operational data for analysis

* Be willing to work varied shifts and flexible schedules to meet customer mission requirements.

* Have, or be able to obtain, and retain DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CySA+, or CCNA Security)

* Have prior system administrator experience

* Be willing to work varied shifts and flexible schedules to meet customer mission requirements

Basic Qualifications:

* Must be a US citizen.

* Candidates must hold an active DoD Secret clearance with a background investigation closure date within the last 6 years and be able to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science desired or BS in related discipline with equivalent professional experience.

* Experience in Visual C++ application development, COM, DCOM, MFC and Oracle database design and application required

Knowledge of the following is also desired:

* Visual Studio.NET, XML, object- oriented design methodologies, Unified Modeling Language (UML), and parsers (Flex / Bison).

* Experience with Microsoft office tools, and PC development environments are preferred.

* Must have excellent organizational and communications skills. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

* For this particular position an active Secret security clearance, with a current background investigation is preferred.

* Current Security+, CySA+, or CCNA Security certification

* Demonstrated system administration experience.

* Disaster recovery: backups and restores of physical servers (Win2012) and virtual machines

* User Account Maintenance (Active Directory)

* Hardware/System Monitoring of physical and virtual servers

* Maintaining/upgrading system hardware and startup/shutdown of rack components

* Applying operating system updates, anti-virus/anti-spyware updates, and patch updates

* Experience troubleshooting Web Applications

* JBOSS (WildFly) Application Server Familiarity

* Understanding of Network Open System Interconnection (OSI) Model Layers.

* Working knowledge of Networked Attached Storage (NAS) systems and supported protocols

* Familiarity with Lockheed Martin products and processes, to include the JSF ALIS hardware and software

* Prior fighter aircraft maintenance experience
