Analyst - Employee Benefits, Human Resources



Cleveland-Cliffs is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America. The company is vertically integrated from mining through iron making, steelmaking, rolling, finishing and downstream with hot and cold stamping of steel parts and components.



Cleveland-Cliffs is looking to recruit and hire the best future leaders in Human Resources as we continue to grow. There is an immediate opportunity for an analyst in our employee benefits department located in East Chicago, Indiana.



We are looking for an individual who is committed to contribute to goal achievement in a positive and proactive working environment. The analyst - employee benefits will be responsible for data analytics, auditing, invoice processing, and department reporting.



Responsibilities:

Data Analytics:


  • Performs analysis for benefits team and prepares and presents interpretation of findings and provides relevant conclusions.

  • Assists with interpretation of results and provides recommendations for further consideration.


Auditing and Testing:


  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with benefit plan provisions.

  • Resolve discrepancies identified in audits.

  • Perform and document testing for new benefit software implementations.

  • Recommend process improvements.


Invoice processing:


  • Manage billing, reporting, and metrics for benefit vendors.


Benefits functions


  • Assist in retirement process.

  • Cross train to serve as a backup for various functions, i.e., 401k funding, pharmacy plan changes etc.


Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of experience in analysis

  • Knowledge related to benefits is preferred.

  • Excellent analytical, writing and editing skills.

  • Proficient in Excel - including pivot tables and large data file comparisons.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
