Patient Escort at Nemours in Talleyville, Delaware

Job Description:

This position provides escort services for patients, families, and visitors within the hospital. This position also cleans and restocks the wheelchairs and wagons in designated areas, and delivers patient packages to their inpatient rooms. This position requires self motivation and team work.

Essential Functions:

1. Supports patient's rights and the organization's code of ethical behavior and participates in ongoing development and evaluation of task performed.

2. Interacts with patient, families, visitors and employees to offer assistance and support.

3. Maintains strict confidentiality/privacy regarding patient information.

4. Assists staff in meeting Service Excellence Standards.

5. Demonstrates self-motivation and professionalism in dealing with patients and families. visitors and staff

6. Reports to manager, in a timely manner, any visible activities, conditions, hazards or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, co-worker, patient or visitor.

7. Escort and transport patients within the hospital in a safe, prompt and professional manner.

8. Demonstrates proficiency in care of all ages, neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults.

9. Ensure adequate supplies of wheelchairs/wagons are provided at outpatient entrances.

10. Identify and collect wheelchairs/wagons in need of repair/cleaning.
