The Manager of Onboarding is responsible for leading a team of Onboarding Project Managers who implement new and existing clients, health care reform, partnerships, products, and policies. Areas of accountability include client and vendor management, project management and operations management as it relates to the coordination of internal resources. The Manager will work with external customers and cross-functional team leaders to determine requirements and develop consistent standards, policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, accuracy and timeliness. This position will also develop and implement Customer Onboarding strategies to support organizational goals and initiatives, with a focus on continuous process improvement.

How you will make an impact:


  • Oversees all aspects of the Customer Onboarding team, including day-to-day activities, staff evaluation and performance monitoring.

  • Analyzes reports to make data-driven tactical and strategic decisions on staffing models; forecasts, plans and allocates resources to effectively meet productivity and quality goals.

  • Coaches, mentors, and develops staff, providing career development planning and opportunities.

  • Leads employees to meet Delta's expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement and goal accomplishment.

  • Plans, evaluates and optimizes the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance turnaround time, quality, efficiency and output.

  • Identifies and leads daily priorities for cross-functional teams.

  • Engages in problem-solving and issue resolution activities for complex Onboarding projects and escalations.

  • Performs risk assessments and crisis management activities to ensure compliance and timely issue resolution.

  • Provides both functional and technical system-specific knowledge throughout the project life cycle.

What we look for:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.

  • A minimum of 6 years of industry experience in healthcare with demonstrated experience leading large and complex onboarding projects.

  • A minimum of 4 years supervisory experience.

  • 3+ years of experience working with Medicare/Medicaid programs preferred.

  • Ability to collaborate with leadership in a sales and service environment.

  • Advanced project management skills.

  • Strong technical expertise in system capabilities across all plan types.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to encourage innovation and teamwork, and to build effective teams.

  • Ability to take initiative and demonstrate accountability for area of responsibility.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical abilities, including skill in critical thinking and problem-solving.

  • Ability to present information to executives, clients and brokers.

  • Knowledge of Delta Dental products, policies, claims, eligibility and underwriting procedures and guidelines.

  • Knowledge of health care industry.

  • Ability to use software to create reports, presentations and spreadsheets involving complex databases and information.

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • A valid driver's license, ability to travel and sustain company expenses for a period of up to one month.
