Reports to Director. Transports patients safely between all patient care areas, using appropriate body mechanics. Assists in expediting the delivery of needed supplies.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
The knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must maintain current CPR certification. Patient care experience in acute facility or free-standing ambulatory surgery center is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
Basic knowledge of abbreviations and medical terminology.
Working knowledge of equipment operation and safe use.
Maintain proper body mechanics to prevent injuries.
Knowledge of Hospital Policies and Procedures.
Strict adherence to aseptic techniques and practices.
Working Conditions
At risk for occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
Physical Demands
Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e. to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time, push carts/wheelchairs up to 50 pounds, to position/lift patients at a maximum of 35 pounds unassisted, over 35 pounds requires assistance, provide CPR, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position.
