Job Summary

 

Human Resources first point of contact to partner with and support Managers and Employees on organizational and employee matters, as well as coaching, HR process expertise and other general HR activities. Will report into the PNW HR Leader, providing expertise for the full scope of Human Resource functions including aspects of labor relations, hourly relations, employee benefits, compensation, employee engagement, talent assessment and development, organizational change and development and communications for a client group.

Roles and Responsibilities

 


  • A first point of contact for employees & managers who provides leadership, coaching and support for individual employee needs & HR processes.

  • Provide advice and leadership on employee and labor/union relations.

  • Partner with leadership teams on legal/labor laws, contract issues and risk management and staying current on regulatory changes to local, state and federal law.

  • Develop in-depth understanding of labor contracts and key business drivers and use this understanding to accomplish goals and create strong business relationships with all employees and leaders.

  • Provide coaching and support for individual employee needs & HR processes.

  • Provide coaching to people leaders related to talent identification and selection, succession planning, merit planning and performance management.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to employees related to career development and involvement with selection processes.

  • Uses prior experience and acquired expertise to execute functional policy/strategy.

  • Provides informal guidance to new team members. Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations.

  • Work with leaders and employees to create a positive and contemporary work environment that respects every employee and help embed the culture and company values

  • Partner effectively with our HR Centers of excellence.

  • Manage corrective action process as well as compliance investigations. 

  • Impacts projects, processes and procedures in own field. The role operates with some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities/provision of advice within an enabling discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Activities require professional judgment but may require more senior levels of guidance.

  • Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • Leverage analytics tool to implement HR strategies and drive the execution with rigor or Assists in gathering and analyzing data to implement and drive the execution of HR strategies.

  • Promote a diverse and inclusive environment supported by our I&D agenda.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired expertise to execute functional policy/strategy.

 

Required Qualifications

 


  • Bachelor s Degree from an accredited college or university in related area or similar with relevant experience.

  • 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist

  • Experience working with union and non-union employee populations

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter and ability to work independently

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.

  • Ability to work in changing environments, see through complexity and strategically promote an inclusive / diverse workforce

  • Demonstrated experience in making sound HR decisions & assessing employee talent

  • Proven experience working in a manufacturing environment supporting multiple functions

  • Confidence to voice opinions & ideas and willingness to deliver tough feedback / coaching to leadership

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations make judgments based on practice or previous experience

  • Analytical mindset & digital capability (proficiency with an HRIS and HR data analytics tool)

  • Spanish speaking a plus
