Job Description 

The Key Account Manager is responsible for growing Ferro Electronic Materials sales profitably by increasing sales at existing customers, developing new business and identifying new markets and segment opportunities. Understand Ferro Electronic Materials core technology competencies to understand new potential products and markets for Ferro Electronic Materials.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities: 

·         Build strategic relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders, at all levels at new and existing customers

·         Identify new accounts and opportunities through sales calls and research (internet, tradeshows, industry networking) including effective estimation of revenue from potential new opportunities

·         Responsible for full sales cycle from opportunity identification through sales closure and support. Develop strategic account plans / business plans for assigned accounts.

·         Manage expectations of customers and Ferro Corporation management

·         Ability to communicate effectively with highly technical people, both internally and externally.

·         Support promotional efforts for Ferro Electronic Materials (Tradeshows, Technical Events, advertising, etc.)

·         Lead sales projects to the closure of business including guiding Ferro’s cross-functional teams to focus on high probability opportunities that provide significant sales revenue

·         Build cross functional relationships within Ferro’s Electronic business unit

·         Responsible for accurately forecasting of sales at assigned accounts on a monthly basis.

·         Responsible for updating account data in Ferro’s CRM system.

·         Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

·         BS or BA Degree, MBA or advanced technical degree preferred

·         5+ years of experience in customer facing position (Sales, Marketing, Field Service) with the following experience:

o    Closing new business selling complicated technical products with a long sales cycle (6+months) (chemicals, process equipment, controls)

o    Ability to lead, and work on, internal and external cross functional teams to close new business and service existing accounts

o    Build strategic relationships with customers at all levels within the organization to achieve / exceed desired business objectives

o    Communicating value of product to customers in a variety of different markets and segments

·         Identify potential opportunities and competitive threats

·         Ability to self-direct work schedule based on evolving changing environments

·         Ability to use Microsoft suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software, SAP

·         Ability to work, communicate and influence in a consensus-based culture. Strong problem solving, good business acumen.

·         Experience with pricing, rebates and quotes

·         Experience with market and customer segmentation

·         Experience preferred with Capacitive Component Materials Technology (Dielectrics, Electrodes, Terminations) in the Electronics market segment and experience with electronic glass technology is a plus.

 

 

Physical Demands:

Physical requirements that may include lifting, standing or sitting for extended periods, unusual physical requirements or temperature extremes, etc.

 

Travel Requirements: 

Travel within N. America 60-70% of the time
