Job Description:

SUMMARY



The Director of Operations - Apprenticeship will work with a Director of Operations in identifying, developing, and implementing efforts that support the factory operations, its customers and CIT growth objectives. The Director of Operations Mentee will support the facility’s long- and short-term goals that the Director of Operations has aligned with the Division’s goals.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive improvements and cultivate learning relationships.

  • Identify opportunities and develop clear strategies by identifying trends and exercising data driven problem solving to improve tools, systems, and policies.

  • Manage key projects independently from initiation through completion.

  • Partner with stakeholders to develop clear, relevant, and actionable project plans that tie actions to impact.

  • Gather and analyze relevant data and effectively summarize insights.

  • Duties may expand in the future to include managing a larger local manufacturing team.

  • Motivates, engages, and empowers others through consistent communication of vision, mission, purpose, and goals.

  • Maintain alignment through Policy Deployment and drive daily improvement through a Tiered Accountability process.

  • Actively participate in Leadership meetings as an extension of the Director of Operations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of technical and production employees.Â

  • Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

  • Interview, hire, and cross-train employees. Plan and direct work. Appraise performance; reward and discipline employees. Address complaints and resolve problems.

  • Provide coaching and development opportunities based on technical and operational performance.Â

  • Meet with appropriate staff on a timely basis for performance evaluation, succession planning and goal setting.




WORK ENVIRONMENT



Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level is usually low to moderate. The job requires being in the production area, requiring the wear of OSHA safety standards personal protection equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS









EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Finance, or Business Administration required. Equivalent industry experience may be considered in the absence of a listed degree. (MBA preferred)

  • Minimum of two-years’ experience in management of manufacturing or other related engineering type operation.

  • Minimum of five-years’ in a manufacturing industry.




LANGUAGE SKILLS



Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English required. Spanish and English preferred.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS



Strong mathematic and analytical skills. Will be working with detailed cost analysis, percentages, and some advance mathematical equations.









JOB SKILLS/TYPE OF PERSON


  • Working knowledge of Windows-based computer applications including Excel, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, SAP, and Outlook.
  • Experience with and knowledge of SAP as an ERP system.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical problem-solving abilities.
