Job Description:
Overview:
The Process Improvement Project Manager provides project leadership on internal initiatives that are strategic in nature, span across functional areas, and provide practical and effective solutions for the business
This role will also be responsible for 4 direct reports
Collaborates with process owners and business leaders to identify improvement opportunities and foster the development of solutions that address a wide range of business challenges
Leads cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of process improvements projects and in the development of new processes
Determines key project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, issues, risks, and outcomes
Thinks strategically, with an equal focus on delivering to both short-term and long-term objectives
Enjoys the challenge of solving complex problems as the leader of high-performance project teams
Responsibilities:
Determine and maintain project timelines, estimated level of effort, and resource/budget requirements
Prioritize project activities, ensuring deadlines are achieved and the project team effectively communicates about progress and obstacles, both within the project team and to stakeholders
Manage and track all project related activities to ensure successful completion of objectives
Ensure that process improvements are both effective and durable by assisting process owners with training, documentation, and establishing process controls
Recognize and encourage behaviors that contribute to teamwork and improve outcomes, leveraging the unique talents of each project team
Build effective relationships throughout the organization and remove obstacles to success
Knowledge/Experience:
2+ years’ experience in project management and/or in leading teams to success
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, PMP Certification highly desired
Demonstrated experience in the use of process improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, or related practical approaches (5 Whys, 6 Ms, 7 Wastes, brainstorming, 2x2 prioritization matrix, Exploratory Data Analysis, etc.)
Ability to understand complex business processes and adapt solutions to meet the needs of the business
Proven analytical skills, with the ability to approach problems logically and systematically
Experienced user in Excel and MS Project (or other project management tools)
Excellent communication skills for collaborative interaction with all levels of the organization, from process operators to executives
