Meritor is a fast-paced manufacturing company and the IS Site Manager’s role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the local IS department in alignment with the site’s business objectives. You will plan, coordinate, direct, and execute the IS-related activities of your department.. You will drive innovation and process improvement in all aspects of technology from Service Delivery, Process Improvement, to Infrastructure and Security. You’ll also ensure that all corporate guidelines are adhered to. This position will have IS/IT responsibilities for three facilities within the Meritor Manufacturing system with a small but very capable local IT support team and various remote support IS teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead IS Department operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.

• Must be hyper focused on customer support and education. The ideal candidate would nurture an environment that guides, teaches, and supports their user base in ongoing technology and process changes.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight as a self-starter with a drive for continuous improvement.

• Managing the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IS systems, including servers, PCs, LAN, Telecom, hardware, software, and peripherals.

• Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IS infrastructure and IS systems.

• Work with local management to define business and system requirements for new technology implementations, process and people improvements.

• Keep current with the latest technologies.

• Manage financial aspects of the IS Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and forecasting.

• Manage relevant vendor license contracts and support agreements: renewals, negotiations, identifying new vendors.

• Manage IS staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions. Help improve your team’s hard and soft skills by mentoring where needed.

• Be part of the escalation process in the 24/7 local support group.

• Minimal travel required.



• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field with a proven track record in Information Systems.

Knowledgeable in Local Area Networks, Windows Server environment, PC hardware and software applications.

• Excellent communication / interpersonal skills required.

• Strong analytical problem-solving skills.

• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced IT environment and capable of motivating teams.

• Established time management skills with the ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously.

• Proven skills in leadership development and team building.

• Experience in an Automotive manufacturing environment.

• Six Sigma Certification.

• Experience in Agile methodologies.

• Experience with virtualization in different areas such as Servers, Networks, SaaS, IaaS, SD-WAN.

• Experience in making data-driven decisions and being proficient with SQL.

• Experience with Industry 4.0 methodologies and different SCADA models.

• Experience with Disaster Recovery methodologies.
