Job Description

InterMetro Industries is seeking an Engineering Technician for our Manufacturing facility located in Wilkes Barre, PA.The Engineering Technician supports the Engineering department in manufacturing related project execution, Lean implementation, Research & Development initiatives and achievement of departmental goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Assists Manufacturing Engineers with various tasks including, but not limited to, development builds, process improvements, operator training, process failure analysis, process capability and Performance Excellence projects.


2. Assists in programming CNC equipment.


3. Executes Design Releases through bills of material, process routings, fixtures, work instructions and any necessary communication with production.


4. Generates, modifies and/or processes engineering documentation, such as bills of material, routings maintenance, engineering controlled production process documentation, and product development design changes.


5. Assists in engineering, production and floor-driven projects, including but not limited to driving Lean A3 teams, setting up production lines/work cells and resolving quality related issues.
   Interfaces with Manufacturing Engineers, Production Leads, Operations Managers, Quality Team and Supervisors to provide operations support across the facility.


6. Possesses knowledge and understanding of the Code of Business Ethics. Contributes to a workplace environment that is conducive to the maintenance of the Code.


7. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED


• One to four years of relevant experience


• AutoCAD or equivalent 2d CAD software


• Excellent mathematical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Operations or Industrial Engineering


• Machine controls experience: Programmable Logic Controllers


• Lean certification


• A3 Training


• Equipment failure and analysis experience


• Six Sigma Green Belt training/certification
