The Opportunity:

The MGSSA manager Cash Application is responsible for the management of the Cash Application processes for the Americas. The scope of this role includes timely and accurate processing of Cash and application to outstanding accounts receivable (AR), deduction processing and other processes that drive correct reporting of AR.

Candidates for this role must be adept at driving results with a sense of urgency, managing a team, and leading process improvement initiatives. This position will report into the global process owner Cash Application and will take part of global initiatives that drive standardization and improvement across the organization. This position is based in East Aurora, NY and will lead an onshore team as well as an offshore team based in India.

What Your Impact Will Be:


  • Manage cash application team and 3rd party outsourcing partner supporting the Americas

  • Develop annual goals for team members and work to ensure career paths, career progression, and engagement across global teams

  • Ensure that daily cash application operational deliverables and terms are met/adhered to

  • Manage and ensure any escalated issues or inquiries are investigated, and resolved in a timely manner

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end AR closing processes, Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) controls, etc.

  • Manage completion of internal and external audit requirements.

  • Support development of performance baselines, Service Levels, and Key Performance Indicators for the cash application business processes.

  • Hold outsourcing partner accountable for key contract and operational performance metrics

  • Maintain process documentation, ensuring process changes are incorporated, reviewed, and approved in a timely manner

  • Evaluate end-to-end AR processes, identify gaps, recommend modifications, and implement processes to achieve measurable improvements and standardization

  • Partner with IT and business partners to optimize the use of cash application software and resolve system integration issues.

  • Manage the relationship between MGSSA and Mattel Business Units Finance, Sales and Customer Service teams.

  • Ensure on-going emphasis on client service and satisfaction


What We're Looking For:


  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Minimum of 10 years work experience including 5 years in an AR department with supervisory oversight

  • Experience with current Order-to-Cash systems

  • Experience in a shared services environment, with outsourced model or co-sourced model experience strongly preferred

  • Energetic and focused personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines

  • Ability to identify challenges, present solutions, and implement improvements

  • Able to work flexible hours

  • Highly proficient and fully functional in all Microsoft Office applications and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology

  • Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion

  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to successfully interact with team members across the global organization, including 3rd party outsourcing partner based in India

  • Experience with Oracle R12 or related ERP

  • Experience with High Radius Cash Application solution or comparable

  • Experience in project management methodology and tools
