This position will lead and coordinate all technical activities of assigned engine development programs across disciplines. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates should expect to demonstrate an understanding of Diesel engine technology and development processes. The candidate needs to be able to work across multiple projects and teams, working with various teams across PACCAR to support their assigned programs. The position will work with peers and managers at DAF in order to assure global alignment of engine development.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Liaises with program management on technical execution aspects of assigned programs
Develops and manages the execution of the Vehicle Test Plan in collaboration with the Line Leads
Manage software and calibration content reviews
Manage hardware content reviews
Facilitate risk assessments of any changes within the program that impact the vehicle test plan
Coordinate with line leads all program level development test events including offsite testing
Program lead engineer provides input to the development and maintenance of the program budget
Responsible for communicating status to engineering and program management
Understand and work to resolve the technical roadblocks impacting delivery to the program
Liaise with program leads or equivalent across the global organization on status of the technical execution of a program
Provides the technical input and communication for the PCP and tollgate processes
Coordinates information communication across the program team
Communicates to line and program management technical and/or program level roadblocks as required
Work on day-to-day basis with NA PACCAR Embedded System Development Team leads and Managers
Work closely with Embedded Engineering Lead Process Engineer in development of Global Configuration plan for NA PACCAR
Required Qualifications
BS in appropriate technical field required, MS degree in technical field preferred
3 years of demonstrated individual contribution in that technical field
5-8 years of relevant work experience preferred
Strong understanding of Powertrain Systems Development preferred
Technical familiarity across disciplines to understand potential impact of program changes
Team leadership skills
Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively in a cross-functional work environment
Self-directed, excellent analysis and engineering judgment required
Organized and disciplined with ability to manage personal workload and a willingness and initiative to respond to shifting time and program demands.
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Ability to travel
Able to work in a team environment where multiple active projects require effective coordination of multiple concurrent tasks
