Job Description

The Resident Engineer/Systems Engineer will be based in Farmington Hills, MI.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

Placed on the customer site in Roush:

• Works with customer engineering teams remote and on-site to solve technical issues related to Flex’s advanced electronic control units (ECUs) for Autonomous driving and their integration into customer vehicles.


• Perform front-line diagnosis and evaluation of ECU issues at customer premises.


• Communicate and drive resolution of ECU technical issues with internal design organizations and customer engineering teams.


• Be the key channel of communication for customers and act as escalation in the event of customer technical issues.


• Maintain co-ordination and responsibility for related project technical activities.


• Support production sites for technical / design items, internal and customer-related matters through leadership and expertise.

Here is some of what you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.


• 5+ years’ experience with complex automotive electronic devices and ECUs for connectivity, compute and ideally for ADAS and Autonomous driving products.


• Experience as a System Engineer working at a dedicated costumer site, integrating ECUs into vehicles.


• Ability to understand schematics, functional specifications and other technical documentation.


• Knowledge and abilities required to perform ECU firmware/software updates, run diagnostics and perform first level debug of issues using software tools.


• Capability to support mechanical and electrical integration of ECU into the vehicle platform.


• Fluent English knowledge both in written and spoken form.


• Ability to travel locally and internationally on an occasional basis.

Here are a few of our preferred experiences:

• Knowledge and experience in the development of hardware and software for ADAS and Autonomous driving systems.


• Demonstrated experience launching automotive ECUs into mass production and deployment.


• Experience working with Automotive OEM customers, ideally understanding FMC requirements, tools and processes.


• Basic commercial knowledge and cost awareness.
