Regional Accountant for NHC Regional Office located in Pulaski, TN


NHC's Regional Office located in quiet Pulaski, TN is looking for a Regional Accountant to join our team! This position is responsible for overseeing the accounting functions (accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll) of business offices within the region’s 13 skilled nursing facilities in South Central TN and Northern AL.


RESPONSIBLE TO: Senior Vice President, Treasurer


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting preferred) and five to ten years of prior A/R billing and collections, general ledger, payroll and accounts payable experience.

  • Be able to work accurately with pressures of deadlines and interruptions while at the same time being well organized, persistent and working as a team player.

  • Self-starter, multi-tasker.

  • Possess excellent management and leadership skills.

  • Possess good communication and analytical skills with particular ability to pay attention to details.

  • Possess strong computer skills. Knowledge of UKG Human Capital Management (HCM) and MatrixCare systems a plus.

 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • While performing the duties of the job, the partner is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. Must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in the timely and accurate billing of revenue and collection of accounts receivable.

  • Coordinates accounting communications and activities between the region’s business offices, other center departments and the corporate office.

  • Assists in the recruiting, training and retention of the region’s business office staff.

  • Serves as interim for extended business office manager absences in the region.

 



  • Facilitates internal audits and coordinates the responses to document requests including those from insurers, Medicare and Medicaid.

  • Communicates regularly with patients and their family members, vendors and payors such as insurance, Medicare and Medicaid representatives.

  • Participates in special projects as assigned by the SVP Treasurer or Regional SVP/VP.

  • Addresses and/or makes recommendations regarding partner (employee) relations issues as needed.

  • Communicates and enforces company and facility policies and procedures.

  • Adheres to all reporting requirements and deadlines.

  • Travel is required. Up to 15 days per month. Rarely overnight.

  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.
