Job Description
Under minimal direction and guidance of the Cultivation Manager, the Assistant Cultivation Manger is responsible for managing the cultivation and growing processes in the Greenhouse. As Assistant Cultivation Manager, the successful candidate will have a team of cultivation technicians reporting to him/her and will be responsible for organizing daily and weekly work assignments, oversight and management of employee's time and attendance, schedules, and performance.
Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)
Perform and leads all tasks in the grow cycle, including transplanting, feeding, cloning, harvesting and inventory management
Assist the Cultivation Manager in hiring, training, and development efforts of the cultivation team
Leads and independently manages the cultivation team in the absence of the Cultivation Manager
Manage assigned team members performance feedback, talent development, goals, and disciplinary actions.
Manage daily scheduling and performance of all Cultivation personnel to ensure a highly efficient operation while operating in strict compliance with all state and company rules, regulations, security procedures and record keeping
Maintain a clean and safe environment while adhering to all applicable rules/regulations
Work directly with the Cultivation Manager and Director of Cultivation to ensure the quantity, mix and yield of strains planted will meet cultivation team goals and objectives
Facilitate meeting cultivation goals for the facility as directed
Ensure all cultivation related standard operating procedures are followed including cultivation, inventory management, security, and cleanliness within the team
Regular activities required to ensure optimal plant health (de-leafing, scouting for pests, irrigation, transplanting)
Maintain activities required to ensure optimal health of mother plants, clones, veg and flower plants
Dispose of waste in accordance with the State Regulations, ensuring that proper record keeping has occurred
Participate in training sessions, educational classes, or attend conferences designed to either improve your skills or your understanding of cultivation, harvest, and/or cannabis regulations
Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community
Embodies the culture, values, and tenets of PharmaCann and full support of our purpose, goal, and key objectives
Qualifications
The Assistant Cultivation Manager must have impeccable organization, management, and team building skills for our startup operation. The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience in the cannabis cultivation industry, horticulture or agriculture and 2-3 years of experience leading a team of cultivators.
Knowledge of all applicable laws, regulations, rules and company policies
Successful candidates will have unsurpassed attention to detail and excellent communication skills
Knowledge of cannabis cultivation including but not limited to: seed germination, cloning, mother plant care, veg, flower, harvest, plant diseases and pathogens, as well as plant treatment options
Proven strong leadership experience
Working conditions
This position involves a fair amount of manual labor which requires repetitive tasks. This position operates within a greenhouse which can reach elevated temperatures. The Cultivation Department operates on weekends and holidays, and standard work hours may apply regardless of day or season.
Physical requirements
Ability to lift up to 60lbs and perform manual labor tasks requirement for the management and operation of the greenhouse.
