Requisition Summary

We are looking for a Linux / Unix Administrator with server, storage and networking experience the kind of contributor who is willing to get into the details and wants to make a big difference for our business. This position will work as a team with other Server Administrator to support the High Performance Computing Linux Cluster. The primary function of the position is to oversee the daily performance, repair tickets, and updates to the system. The secondary function of the position is to work with the IT Team toprovideWindows Server and VMWare environment assistancein order tosupport the PTC network as a whole. This will include training team members, computer repairs and other related server tasks.

Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Maintain RHEL and Windows server infrastructure.




• Linux / Unix System Administrator ( SuSE and RedHat)




• Automation of tasks using a combination of Cron, Shell scripting, and configuration management systems




• Interact with Engineers on various support tasks.




• Design, implement and support complex server architectures that may include load balancing, server clustering VMWare, or other technologies that provide scalability and availability




• Develop and drive strategy for adopting and deploying new technologies




• Proactive monitor the performance and perform maintenance on Servers to ensure reliability and uptime




• Develop and maintain architecture and technical standards and procedures




• Learn new networking and server technologies as they emerge




• Provide leadership and consulting on Linux / Unix servers and other operations problems across




• Other duties as assigned




• On call availability 24/7

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 2-4 years Linux & Windows server administration experience


• Experience withserveroperating system deployment tools


• Experience configuring, installing, maintaining and/or using performance monitoring and optimization tools


• Self-starter with the ability to lead others as well as follow


• Ability to work with minimal or no supervision


• Ability to work in high pressure situations


• Ability to lead technical discussions and have difficult conversations


• Analytical ability to synthesis data and reporting on metrics


• Demonstrated ability to communicate both in verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization


• Customer service oriented

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining job management tools (such as SLURM, Moab, TORQUE, Bright, etc.


• Experience supporting HPC compilers and libraries.


• AWS management or development.

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
