Job Description:

The 846th Test Squadron (846 TS) requires a technical editor and test project management assistant. The 846 TS works with DoD and other customers to design, develop and execute high speed rocket sled tests specifically designed to simulate selected portions of the flight environment in support of the development of weapon systems and other flight hardware. The 846 TS is unique in that every test utilizes a single test resource: the Holloman High Speed Test Track. Moreover, the 846 TS is a �one stop shop,� where all aspects of a test project are carried out in-house, including mechanical and instrumentation design; sled, instrumentation & concrete target fabrication; test setup & teardown; data collection, analysis & reporting; as well as continual rail maintenance. The technical editor will assist test project managers and the Project Management Flight Chief as required.

The job requires the following duties, skills and abilities:

• Review technical test documentation for content, organization, formatting and grammar to ensure compliance against standard technical writing guidelines
• Create, review and maintain templates to current standards
• Interact with databases and database managers to enter and extract technical and financial data
• Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Adobe Acrobat applications
• Carry out administrative support tasks as requested which may include but are not limited to:
  
  
  • Writing and routing official memoranda
  • Researching applicable policies and processes
  • Receiving and escorting deliveries and customers
  • Interacting with test team members and customers to obtain and disseminate information via telephone, email or face-to-face
  
  
• Respond effectively to rapidly changing situations
• Understand and obey applicable policies, laws and regulations
• Possess/obtain a secret security clearance
• Possess/obtain a valid driver�s license
