Supports and/or improves business processes with information technology solutions. Develops, designs, and analyzes the most complex problems and/or programs. Ensures integrity of the company's databases, transaction processing and reporting systems, security, resource monitoring, reporting, and the development of specialized systems and processes.

1.Performs the most complex systems analyses that include requirements definition, interfacing with users, and providing cost and benefit analyses. Prepares complex trade-off studies and benchmark analyses.
2.Develops and manages long-term information technology project plans and schedules. Acts as prime consultant to management on significant issues. Serves as project leader on most complex projects; may provide leadership to ad-hoc teams. Establishes goals and objectives to carry out programs or functions by coordinating efforts across the division; explains work methods and ensures project completeness, timeliness and accuracy. Estimates, develops and manages project budgets and cost/performance analysis.
3.Prepares portions of company's long term strategic plan related to information systems. Interfaces with IT and other staff throughout the corporation. Confers with management of organizational units involved to analyze current and future information systems needs.
4.Applies and may lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency of internal systems and processes within the division and/or with corporate and customer involvement.
5.Performs comprehensive analyses of company's computer system capabilities to determine and propose modifications to meet division and group systems needs are feasible within existing systems.
6.Analyzes, designs, plans, codes, tests, documents, and implements most complex business applications required to develop or maintain systems. Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making complex comparative analyses.
7.Prepares project status reports to inform management of project progress and resource requirements. Identifies any issues that need to be elevated to management for resolution or assistance.
8.Leads new technology evaluation related to operating systems, hardware, software packages, development tools and methodologies. Identifies alternative or new technologies and implements them as Information Technology standards.
9.Prepares and gives technical presentations, including executive and/or highly technical customers or suppliers.
10.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical professional publications, establishing industry networks, and/or participating in professional associations.
11.Complies with federal and state legal requirements (e.g. software licensing, confidentiality of employee records); ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions. Researches existing and new legislation and proposes policy changes.
Serves as technical subject expert and resource. Shares specialized knowledge with others. Represents company on specific projects. Prepares and conducts technical presentations on selected topics. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement).

Education and Experience
Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through fifteen or more years related application/infrastructure experience utilizing the company's standard toolsets. Specific assignment may require recognized certification in area of expertise.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of programming, system design and analysis principles, industry practices, regulations, and overall business operations. Specific area of assignment may require knowledge in specific or multiple products and tools such as: thorough technical knowledge of software and hardware selection implementation and testing methodology, client/server application development, architecture, database connectivity and database design methodology; and, expert knowledge of manufacturing and support organizations, business and workflow processes, quality methods, and multi-site. Ability to effectively assess, lead, and implement continuous improvement in critical and/or high-impact areas. Knowledge of project management standards, methods and techniques. Ability to work on most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables and/or complete data. Ability to understand problems from a broad, long-term perspective. Ability to develop long range plans to complete complex projects. Ability to develop improved methods and systems. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex policies and recommend changes to procedures. Ability to analyze, and interpret business periodicals and detailed technical manuals and procedures. Ability to respond to significant inquiries from users. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management. Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.

TYPICAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to operate a computer and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the employee is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others and members of the public, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once. Overnight, long distance (including international) travel may be required, based on the individual needs of the position. This position may require working late nights and weekends. The employee is occasionally required to move or carry computer equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
