Tooling Coordinator

Tooling Coordinator: This position will be responsible for ordering and coordinating the repair of all tooling for (SLS) hardware and ensuring that the processes for tool maintenance and procurement are followed. Candidate will create purchasing requests and track them while working with the cognizant Manufacturing or Test Engineers. Candidate must ensure processes and procedures comply with all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety requirements as well as all the applicable quality requirements. Must be able to review drawings and concepts and resolve procurement and repair concerns. Must be able work well in an integrated product development/ design environment. Candidate must possess a positive attitude and be able communicate well with staff, IPD teams & management.

Desired experience should include knowledge of tooling for complex mechanical systems, and components such as, heat exchangers, pumps, fans, & accumulators.

Education / Certifications:



Bachelors of Science in Engineering or Technology, or 3+ years of Experience in a Technical field.

Experience/Qualifications: Candidate must have 2+ years of experience in reading or interpreting drawings in a mechanical or electrical engineering field. Desired experience should include GD&T and ANSI Y14.5, knowledge of off-the-shelf engineering components, and a strong understanding of technical blueprints. The candidate must be proficient in SAP or similar MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) systems. Candidate must have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment and experience in using Microsoft Office software or equivalents. Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel is a plus. Familiarity with a modeling and/or design package such as ProE, Creo, or CAD is desired. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, machining concepts and special processing, such as welding and brazing, is desirable. Strong knowledge of Continuous improvement methods (ACE or the DMAIC model) and demonstrated use of their tools is desirable.
