Responsibilities
Talent Management | |
Ensure monthly coaching is occurring at all levels toward progress of individual goals is in place for team. | |
Identify top-talent and ensure mentoring is in place for these individuals. | |
Identify growth opportunities for team by enabling exposure to rest of organization and delegate assignments accordingly. | |
Assess talent for the entire team and ensure succession planning and tailored individual plans exist at all levels. | |
Ensure necessary skills for team success are identified and plans to develop are in place. | |
Serve as hiring manager for all direct reports by selecting and evaluating individual candidates. | |
Perform networking and recruiting activities to identify top talent pipeline candidates. | |
Utilize the Clemens Food Group Screening process & tools. | |
Drive the development, adherence and effectiveness of the onboarding plan for team. | |
Ensure alignment and definition of all roles with clear expectations & KPIs for team members | |
Ensure team members are encouraged to support community opportunities. | |
Reiterate importance of Key Expectations and encourage direct reports to coach to these expectations. | |
Performance Management | |
Develop the team through the CFG Performance Excellence process (i.e., strategic plans, initiatives, team scorecard and individual development plans are in place for all areas). | |
Ensure strategic plans for teams are based on customer engagement feedback. | |
Review proposed initiatives for teams and ensure progress on approved initiatives is occurring. | |
Review respective team scorecards on a regular basis and ensure action items exist to close any gaps to targets. | |
Review progress on direct reports individual plans (objectives, developmental plans, skill development) and ensure team is doing the same. | |
Seek feedback to ensure Operations performance is meeting the expectations of internal customers (i.e. Customer Solutions) | |
Communicate progress of team and individual development goals with leadership. | |
Ensure organizational structure supports company objectives | |
Participate in key initiative and area opportunity improvement meetings. | |
Ensure plans are in place for team to be ready for various compliance internal / external audits. | |
Align internal support areas to support company initiatives. | |
Establish Key Indicators that support company objectives. | |
Ensure external benchmarks are incorporated into target / goals - where applicable. | |
Provide support for direct reports to conduct effective team meetings promote achievement of goals and objectives. | |
Participate in customer relationship-building activities and create business development plans for area. | |
Create a culture of process improvement by addressing root cause and ensuring solutions are scalable across the organization. | |
Encourage direct reports to improve the process and not just the fix the issue. | |
Proactively address business interruptions and make sure plans are in place to execute upon. | |
Ensure area scorecard, opportunities, organizational visibility is provided to senior management and key stakeholders. | |
Administrative | |
Manage vendor base to ensure adequate vendors are qualified to meet CFG needs | |
Develop and manage specifications for equipment, installation, etc... | |
Manage projects that have the highest rate of return and which fit into master schedule. | |
Maintain process to report project updates to leadership team | |
Manage Capital Budget process including but not limited too, annual planning process, Capital Reviews, and budget management, | |
Conduct formal review of cost and status for all projects managed by direct reports. | |
Be a resource to the engineering team to provide guidance in project development, vendor selection, and general project management | |
Ensure that each project manager is following the standard specification process and that all necessary project tasks have a standard specification for completion. | |
Ensure that each project has a schedule and that the schedules are beign adhered to and adjusted as necessary. | |
Audit that our current project procedures are beign followed. | |
Lead team to establish a set of project management standards (SOP's) to be followed for all capital projects. | |
Ensure that all projects are not going over the approved project amount. Any project that will cross the approved amount will be reapproved and a new NPV performed prior to going over. | |
Utilize standard bidding process during project tasks to keep vendors competitive. | |
Approve requisitions and invoices for payment as necessary. | |
Create a standard set of specifications to use for projects. | |
Ensure all plant drawings are up to date as necessary. | |
Oversee Fabrication and Machine shop departments | |
Align Engineering and Fabrication departments for optimum utilization of internal resources | |
Strategic Direction | |
Drive the short and long term capacity, facility and capital (i.e. $30M) planning. | |
Lead, manage and communicate results of entire capital spending process. | |
Seek, identify and introduce best practices for all processes. | |
Align area capabilities to organizational needs and strategic opportunities. | |
Facilitate initiative development for team. | |
Leverage vendor relationships for best practice identification and implementation. | |
Understand how area will support company strategies and incorporate into team direction-setting. | |
Connect with the industry to ensure best practices are being developed. | |
Lead automation/labor reduction efforts for the company | |
Participate in Clemens Food Group Strategy sessions. | |
Active participation in the development of company initiatives and objectives. | |
Influence Clemens Food Group strategic sessions by providing input and ideas. | |
Conduct feedback sessions with other area leadership | |
Team CFG | |
Participate in area celebrations. | |
Serve as liaison for customers and industry regulatory agencies (USDA, OSHA, DEP, DOT, etc.) | |
Participate in customer visits and interactions for Customer Solutions. | |
Participate in panel interviews for positions outside of area. | |
Participate in Board Meetings (as required). | |
Participate in job definition session for positions outside of area. | |
Participate in community events. |
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) is preferred. |
7 Years Engineering experience with 3+ years management experience |
Prior experience in customer facing positions preferred |
Excellent written/verbal communication/presentation skills |
Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to function at a high level within a team environment |
Ability to work independently and with individuals from multiple disciplines and with varying levels of experience |
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where change and growth are part of the culture |
Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills (proficiency in MS Access a plus) |
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail |
Approximately 15% travel required |
