Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Business Analystat the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Protective Service (FPS) headquarters in Washington, DC. This position will support a program development and improvement workstream on a project to modernize and remediate systems and organizational processes within the government agency.

Responsibilities

As the Business Analyst, you will serve the government client by supporting a team developing requirements for a government agency. This may include the following activities:

    Working in a team to analyze and document requirements and consensus-build
  • Identifying stakeholders and continually engaging them through deliberate communications and change management efforts

  • Work with a team to conduct needs assessment with the stakeholders

  • Support the evaluation of the agency's different offices, assessing the critical capabilities needed to execute the offices' missions

  • Conduct gap analysis to show gaps between existing capabilities and critically-needed capabilities within the different offices

  • Review operational requirements with stakeholders and support the development of a plan to close the gaps.

  • Support facilitated sessions and interviews to increase communications and consensus building

  • Gather and analyze input from stakeholders through questionnaires and surveys

  • Support the development of communications and stakeholder engagement campaigns

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a discipline related to business, information technology, organizational effectiveness, or organizational systems/processes

  • 5+ years of professional experience in defining requirements with formal documentation

  • Excellent research skills

  • Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data

  • Experience evaluating programs and identifying and recommending alternative solutions to an agencies' needs

  • Strong, demonstrated problem solving experience and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple groups and tasks, and work independently or in a group

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Visio

  • Ability to get DHS public trust security clearance

Desired Qualifications:


  • Experience managing complex business solutions for large federal government organizations

  • Existing DHS public trust security clearance
