The Fermentation scientist will join the Health and Biosciences division. He/she will be one of the key members in microbial product development, at the junction between discovery and manufacturing.

Fermentation Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Develop fermentation processes for biomolecules produced by microbial cultures, including both bacterial and fungal systems


• Active participant in the execution of scale-up/scale-down methodology for fermentation processes, including design and analysis of experiments. Analysis tools are commercially-available software and proprietary data management systems, for clear evaluation of fermentation performance...


• Collaborate with process technicians, molecular biologists and microbiologists, downstream recovery engineers as well as other members of IFF's Research and Global Supply organizations


• Prepare technical reports, presentations, protocols and other technical and regulatory documentation

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• BS/MS degree in Biochemical or Bioprocess Engineering disciplines.


• 0 (MS)-2 years (BS) industrial experience, including industrial internships


• Knowledge of biology, microbiology, molecular biology, physiology preferred


• Skills in data analysis, including statistics


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Self starter with good organizational skills and leadership potential


• Strong team player


• Some travel required, when safe


• Position located in Palo Alto, CA
