Description

This position is responsible for the supervision of oil & gas revenue accounting activities for a team of 6-12 revenue accountants. The team's activities include accounting for sales volumes, product imbalances, owner settlements and inquires, accounts receivable / payables, and general ledger entries. The supervisory position includes training, determining workloads, problem solving, and communicating with others as necessary to accomplish the accounting objectives. Ensure the team reconciles GL account balances monthly and balances are resolved timely. Ensure volume and value variance analysis are prepared and variances are accurately explained to Management.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications (list in order of priority):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

  • Minimum 21 hours of accounting credit or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlines

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and interact effectively with others in a team environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with internal & external clients

  • 5+ years oil and gas accounting experience with industry knowledge and terminology

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Fluctuations in workloads will require some overtime

  • Problem solving and analytical thinking as necessary to accomplish accounting objectives

Additional Desired Qualifications (list in priority order):


  • Oil & Gas revenue or production accounting experience

  • SAP/PRA Experience

  • 2+ years supervisor or team lead experience
