Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Oversees the day-to-day management of Security and Transportation throughout the property.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • College degree preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years' experience in Security/Law Enforcement and Investigations required.
  • Two (2) years in a Supervisory/management capacity required.
  • Knowledge of Louisiana Gaming, DOT, and OSHA regulations preferred.
  • Knowledge of law enforcement and gaming, with demonstrated business, communication, organization, and leadership skills is required.
  • Facilities and maintenance management knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a Louisiana State Gaming License.
  • Ability to obtain a Louisiana Responsible Vendor Permit.
  • Working knowledge of Green initiatives preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge and working relationships with, local, state, and federal law enforcement and gaming control authorities.
  • Computer experience to include knowledge of Word and Excel preferred.
  • Ability to work with internal management and staff, as well as, outside support, to develop and maintain a continuing atmosphere of peak guest and employee comfort and safety.
  • Ability to prioritize and view the big picture, a sense for guest service, and high degree of common sense.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of annual budget and operation forecast.
  • Prepares regular and special reports.
  • Maintains necessary records and files.
  • Assures optimum guest service through the delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Works effectively with all departments assuring efficient security support service is provided when needed.
  • Researches and formulates policies.
  • Conducts in-depth confidential investigations as deemed necessary to protect the assets, reputation, and business integrity of the company, or as directed by the Legal staff or senior management.
  • Researches, examines, formulates, and presents in-depth analysis and reports (written/oral) for senior and corporate management regarding the successes, challenges, and opportunities necessary to achieve optimum guest service, asset protection, and business integrity.
  • Establishes and maintains a progressive and empowered work force.
  • Trains, counsels, and coaches assigned personnel in the performance of their duties.
  • Recommends and/or approves changes in the department, including hiring, promotion, demotion, and termination of personnel.
  • Maintains professional skills by staying abreast of current technical developments and participation in developmental programs available within and outside the company.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.

  • Spends the majority of time interviewing, training, and selecting employees.

  • Conducts Performance Reviews.
  • Makes or recommends wage increases.
  • Provides for safety and security.
  • Handles employees' complaints or grievances.
  • Recommends disciplinary action or disciplines employees.
  • Plans work.
  • Supervises and monitors work.
  • Monitors legal compliance with federal, state, and gaming laws.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL:


  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to see and, also, remember the specific details of incidents and persons.
  • Must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports.
  • Must be able to work overtime and work different shifts on short notice.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the hotel/casino.
  • Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
