As a part of our team, you'll contribute high-quality code to FireMon products that are deployed to the most important institutions in the public and private sector. You will be working as a software engineer in a cross-functional team setting to understand our customers' problems and develop solutions for those use cases.You will be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from idea generation, design, and prototyping to execution, and implementation. Our organization is made up of small teams to support agility and creativity. That said, we encourage movement among teams to share context, skills, and experience, so you'll learn about many different aspects of each product. Our engineering environment utilizes a variety of languages, including Java, Python, and Angular. We embrace open-source technologies like ElasticSearch and Linux, as well as, industry-standard build tools, including Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, and Puppet.
About the Role
- Work in a cross-functional agile environment to build and improve FireMon's products
- Participate in code reviews and team meetings, providing technical insight
- Regularly learn new systems and tools as the FireMon platform and ecosystem evolve
- Work autonomously, within a community that will support you as you grow and develop
Required Skills and Experience
- 4 or more years of object-oriented software development experience
- Java plus one of the following: Angular 2 or higher, Python, Git and/or Unit / Integration Testing
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field or equivalent experience
- Resourceful, Analytical, and Agile
- Enjoys opportunities to learn new skills
- Familiarity with basic computer networking principles
- Effective communicator
- Creativity and deep technical knowledge to convert what you know and learn into a better software product.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Prior large-scale vulnerability management experience
- REST API experience (developing / consuming)
- Regular expressions
- ElasticSearch
- Experience in an Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle
