Position Snapshot

US Ecology Lab Pack Chemists engage in ongoing risk evaluation and document job safety assessments. Chemists work directly with US Ecology Clients to provide a complete and thorough lab pack service; risk assessment, waste segregation, packaging, labeling, generating shipping documents, and truck loading. It is to their advantage to be able to transport the waste to a local US Ecology facility.

Day in a Life

• Propagate a safety-first culture in all you do.


• Load lab pack supplies onto the US Ecology truck, and dispatch to the lab pack service address


• Interact with Clients in a manner that supports US Ecology Core values


• Segregate and package waste chemistry in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and RCRA regulations


• Generate compliant shipping documentation, and container labeling


• Load and deliver the waste to the local US Ecology facility

What you need to apply:

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry (preferred but not required), Environmental Science or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)


• Knowledge of chemistry principles and practices


• Ability to obtain a CDL C or B with hazmat & airbrakes


• Eligible to obtain a TWIC card (https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic)


• Knowledge of, or hunger to learn, OSHA, RCRA, DOT, regulations


• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)


• Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills
