An individual who continues their studies under the supervision of a Core Member, Senior Associate Member or Senior Scientific Staff at the level of Director, Associate Director or Assistant Director of a Program, Platform or Initiative. The appointee must possess a doctoral degree at the time of appointment. A postdoctoral associate is paid by the Broad and s/he is benefits eligible. The appointment can be made for multiple years, and may be renewed for a maximum of 5 years. Any appointment as either a Postdoctoral Associate or Fellow beyond a combined total of five years is only possible in extraordinary circumstances and requires approval by the Chief Academic Officer.
