JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for making observations on critical aspects of routine laboratory experiments. Safely and accurately performs all types of laboratory experiments with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Independently and accurately performs and documents all experiments and results for a project with minimal supervision. Successfully interprets and reports test results with supervisory and performs routine calculations as required by experiments.
1. Safely and accurately performs non-routine laboratory experiments as directed by supervisor. Have full knowledge of safe operating procedures and a practical working knowledge of laboratory practices in the functional area.


2. Operates and performs minor maintenance on lab equipment used in testing. Orders supplies, instrument parts and contacts instrument manufacturers to arrange for repairs.


3. Performs procedures and documentation required by the Quality Management System.


4. Perform tests as specified in Control Manual and QC Records.


5. Record and report results.


6. Provide direction on adjustments to processes as indicated by test results.


7. Perform calibration duties on instruments as required and report on results.


8. Perform Safety inspections as required by site policies and directives.


9. Perform other duties such as department representatives on 5S, Six Sigma, or other teams as necess

Position Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School graduate or equivalent with some college level chemistry education. Associates or Bachelor's Degree a plus.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

2 years of lab experience.
