Job Description

Primary Location: Monterey, California Headquarters Office

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Become part of the Technology team that protects the extensive and diverse nature of operations across the wide-ranging systems, networks, and data of the LanguageLine platform. You'll have a broad technical understanding of organizational processes, technological offerings, and service capabilities and are expected to leverage this expertise, combined with frameworks, regulations, and other guidance, to evaluate and support the technology offerings of the organization. Essential to your success in this role will be strong analytic and IT technical skills to evaluate highly complex and diverse IT systems while maintaining the ability to understand and relate the needs to the organization's overall technology platform.


  • Duties include planning, designing, forecasting, deployment, documentation, capacity management, patching, updates, and other ongoing oversight of the organization's desktop environment.

  • Responsible for engineering the desktop infrastructure and managing the desktop experience and security

  • Possess the ability to troubleshoot laptop and workstation hardware across several manufacturers and platforms.

  • Responsible for the configuration and deployment of application packages, operating systems, compatibility testing, and user acceptance testing.

  • Responsible for ensuring end to end testing methodology including all appropriate documentation and requirements for computer hardware and software.

  • Responsible for communicating testing results and coordinates logistics to the Technology Team, Developers, and other key IT staff and leadership as appropriate.

  • Isolate problems and conduct appropriate research and troubleshooting efforts.

  • Provide technical support for Tier 1 and escalated issues.

  • Monitors IT Service Delivery tickets and follows up with assigned personnel to ensure timely resolution of problems.

  • Invokes problem escalation procedures to Tier 3 engineering team.

  • Ensures the upkeep and maintenance of IT equipment.

  • Creating new users, configuring laptops, and setting up their desks/workstations

  • Assist with maintaining Active Directory, Group Policies, and Networks to include adding users, resetting passwords, diagnosing login problems, and identifying the source of a problem.

Additional Functions

  • Driving the adoption of forward-thinking technology in a rapid-growth environment

  • Identifying unique cutting-edge solutions to business problems leveraging technology

  • Follow configuration management and change control procedures when addressing system updates and changes.

  • Follow Incident Reporting procedures.

  • Ensures that daily, weekly, and monthly statistics, status reports, and graphical reporting aids are completed and continually modified to meet the needs of the department.

  • Ensures that decisions made to improve the overall Technology Desktop Service area are continually carried through.

  • Support of specified hardware and software environments.

  • General user and Tier 1 support as required.

  • Work collaboratively across teams in a fast paced, global environment.

  • Exhibit strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Participates in planning for acquisition of new end-user hardware, efficient deployment of hardware; and performs upgrades on existing hardware to maintain performance standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of general IT support experience

  • Experience with MDM solutions such as Intune. Ivanti and Workspace One (AirWatch)

  • Knowledge of enterprise-level administration for common network services such as Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP and troubleshooting as well as Microsoft Office Suite and O365

  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting ability for Linux workstation and server builds.

  • Experience with acquisition integrations and transformations of people, process, and technology a plus.

  • Experience with ITIL Service Methodology or similar maturity model a plus.

  • Excellent understanding of security and privacy technologies and methods
