Position Summary

The Lead Cardiac Sonographer is a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) and assists the physician in performing routine and emergency diagnostic cardiology procedures for patients that range from neonatal through geriatric to include all types of non-invasive cardiology testing. The Lead Cardiac Sonographer assists management with supervision of technical staff, technical staff-education and orientation of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Department. The Lead assists with establishing and updating new cardiology-related policy and procedures and assisting both the Service and Medical Directors with non-invasive case conference meetings, technical and professional quality reviews and the implementation and maintenance of technology new to the Non-Invasive Cardiology area.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values. • Minimum 3 years pediatric and adult echocardiogram experience required
• Supervisory experience required
• Staff education experience preferred
• Digital imaging system expertise preferred, 1 year diagnostic cardiology experience preferred
• Current RDCS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Non-Invasive CVT certificate
