PACCAR's Embedded Engineering department, which serves both Kenworth and Peterbilt, has an opening for a User Interface Prototype Developer.

Here's what you will do in this role:


  • Develop control system architecture, technical requirements and component design specifications for PACCAR product development.

  • Analyze, interpret, and provide feedback on control system architecture, requirements, designs, and verification / validation tests for conformance to product and customer requirements.

  • Gather data and analyze Digital Dash performance utilizing test equipment and other standard EE lab equipment for verification and validation of embedded software products.

  • Perform troubleshooting and first-line diagnosis of issues, detailed analysis, root-cause investigation, problem resolution and defect reporting.

  • Interact with team members, field technicians, suppliers and other personnel within the company and provide on-site & off-site control system support.

  • Work to develop professional relationships through collaboration, respect, professionalism, trust and integrity.

Qualifications


  • Experience with graphics engines required (Unity, Unreal, Godot, ect...)

  • Strong foundation of UI design principals and architecture.

  • Experience in design and application of automotive electronic control modules with a focus on HMI.

  • Experience with Kanzi UI design software for display and user interface development preferred.

  • Experience in UX design preferred.

  • Candidate will be independent, motivated, demonstrate excellent analytical and written communication skills, and exercise sound engineering judgment.

  • Knowledge of control systems, software development and architecture on electric trucks or passenger vehicles preferred.

  • Experience with 1 programming language (Java /C++/ Python) preferred.

  • Experience with revision control software: GIT/ Subversion (SVN) preferred.

  • Experience with requirement management toolchains preferred.

  • Experience of automotive communication protocols, including: J1939, CAN, KWP-2000, UDS is preferred.

  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment with strong organizational skills.

  • Proven success managing workload; and willingness, flexibility, and initiative to respond to shifting time, priority, and project demands.

  • Ability to travel up to 15% including international travel.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Graphics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline required.
