Summary:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in the preparation and audit of financial and operating reports. 

Essential Job Duties:


  • Financial analysis including analyzing trends, revenue, expense items and key performance indicators.

  • Branch visits to assist field management in the improvement of financial performance.

  • Assist with the annual budgeting process including analysis and interaction with field management on the completion of the business plan.

  • Assist with month end close including the preparation of journal entries.

  • Create and analyze monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports and ensure that financial information has been properly recorded.

  • Prepare P&Ls, Balance sheet, Cashflow statements and other financial reports.

  • Preparation for and coordination with company’s CPA firm to ensure a successful annual audit and preparation of tax returns.

  • Work closely with other accountants and Controller on other accounting functions.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:


  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong technical skills including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills

  • Ability to quickly learn industry specific software (SedonaOffice)

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Minimum Qualifications:


  • 4-year degree in Accounting

  • 2-5 years accounting experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Microsoft PowerPoint skills

  • Microsoft Access skills

Physical Demands:


  • Ability to operate computer, phone and other office equipment as needed

  • Ability to work effectively using a personal computer for long periods of time

  • Ability to sit/stand at workstation for extended periods of time

  • Ability to read, write, speak, hear, see, think, communicate, concentrate, learn, and work

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
