Agile Product Management Senior Advisor - Express Scripts at Cigna in Memphis, Tennessee

The Agile Product Management Senior Advisor uses specialized depth and experience to oversee the writing and modifying of complex technical functional requirements for Rebates & Guarantees (Client Guarantees, Rebate Sharing, and Performance Guarantee) - these are derived from the business requirements and form the foundation of what the engineers will code/implement to achieve business tasks. They will work closely with the Business Product Owners, Software engineers, Architects, Delivery Managers, Scrum Masters and peer Advisors to maintain and prioritize the product roadmap, facilitate quarterly planning events, execute sprints, and design business & technology solutions.

Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with agile teams to build and manage new features and capabilities while delivering desired business impact; while providing thought leadership to Program Governance activities such as prioritization and negotiating with stakeholders on backlog priorities.

  • Responsible for owning the technical roadmap and non-functional requirements for product (e.g. frequency of client payments, how long it takes to log in, guarantees met or not met).

  • Work with various business groups to optimize business and financial cases for how technology will deliver their projects.

  • Create, evolve and communicate feature area specifications that form cohesive, iterative plans that align to the multi-release vision.

  • Write Definition of Ready (i.e. acceptance criteria should be clear, business need by dates agreed upon, and business value captured) user stories and epics.

  • Maintain groomed backlog for business stakeholder priorities, and incorporate architectural changes recommended by engineering into user stories.

  • Proactively resolve upstream dependencies and resolve conflict effectively across teams.

  • Advocate for process improvements through an understanding of the engineering lifecycle and previous experience.

  • Monitor and instrument products for business outcomes and tech product health

  • Effectively communicate the products team's backlog, goals, and accomplishments to peers and leadership showing the value the product is bringing to the business.

  • Focus on reducing tech debt when value can be measured in efficiency and quality metrics.

  • Lead program increment planning activities working with business partners and software engineering to identify features including dependencies, risks, and issues to delivery.

Qualifications


  • High School diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and 10-15 years of experience or Master's degree and 5-10 years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Experience utilizing Jira and Jira Align tools.

  • 3+ years relevant experience in Agile methodology.

  • 5+ years relevant experience in Rebates & Guarantees with a focus on Client Guarantees, Rebate Sharing and Performance Guarantee.

  • Experience working in technology or close engagement with technology.

  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.

  • Knowledge of user experience and technical design essential.

  • Proven skill at balancing technical knowledge with business possibility and decision making.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced dynamic/ambiguous environment.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Compliance, IRM, and Software Engineering

  • Passionate advocate with the ability to identify and meet customer needs within an agile framework.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
