Viewpoint is seeking a Sr. Director of the Program Management Office (PMO) & Engineering Operations to set the direction, structure and delivery for Engineering and company wide programs, projects and operations. The Sr. Director will drive operational visibility and efficiencies through programmatic rigor, qualitative and quantitative data analysis utilizing his or her organizational soft skills to continuously improve project and program delivery by working closely with our senior leadership team.

As the Sr. Director you will lead and grow a team of program managers and analysts who are responsible for creating, tracking, measuring and reporting to ensure that our cross functional teams achieve the strategic project and program deliverables and surface project and organizational challenges with Viewpoints portfolio of products. In this role you will be responsible for developing the PMO strategic vision, defining and executing project plans, schedules and deliverables. You will lead and influence key leaders within the organization to advance our Product and Engineering strategy by developing high-impact metrics with clear project visibility. You will have significant executive presence in the presentation of information, metrics, and status.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Ensure tracking and managing delivery of key projects and programs for full cross functional visibility and accountability.


  • Ensure alignment on business goals and priorities, support Agile processes in their development and execution, and facilitate quick and effective tradeoff decisions


  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Product Management, Engineering and other support group functions to design and execute organizational and process improvements.


  • Responsible to provide regular executive updates and course corrections to ensure company objectives are being met and adjusted through effective program management


  • Optimize core business processes, introduce innovative ideas, and foster operational excellence across the organization to ensure we are driving maximum impact


  • Develop executive level briefing material and associated analytics to guide and steer decision making.


  • Identify process improvements in how strategic solutions are delivered and act collaboratively with other business leads to share skills and knowledge.


  • Responsible for communicating, tracking and driving attainment of stated company goals through effective Project Management including the on-time delivery of key projects and programs as stated in annual goals


  • Drive effective collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders across all functional business areas.


  • Develop common PMO processes, tools and project governance to be leveraged on selected enterprise or transformation projects.


  • Interview, hire, coach, train and develop staff. This includes, but not limited to, employee development, staff evaluations, and performance management of assigned staff.


Experience


  • Expert-level knowledge of project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes and approaches (e.g. Project and Portfolio Management Methodology - PPM, Six Sigma)


  • Experience in product development in a matrixed organization


  • Expertise operating against OKRs to drive results - working with teams to move from objective to concept to completion, and to express business impact using precise metrics


  • Experience managing, communicating, and landing change in a complex, high-growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Advanced Degree in Engineering or MBA


  • 7 to 10 years experience leading software engineering delivery or PMO/Engineering Operations


  • PMP, Six Sigma or equivalent project management certification
