• Maintain the Building Interface Document and its drawings (technical coordination, technical change evaluations, text and drawing updates).


• Able to work at site and conduct inspection to ensure Building Design meets BID requirement.


• Coordinate BID life cycle and changes inside Engineering, including project management.


• Control of Engineering & BID documentation and drawings for both internal and external departments/parties.


• Represent Varian in the Building Design process with both existing and potential customers.


• Customer and prospect visits for building technical design meetings at all design stages.


• Oversight over building drawing reviews performed by Varian staff. (done at several phases throughout the building design process).


• Primary point of contact to Engineering for specific design questions relating to civil, mechanical, or electrical disciplines.


• Primary point of contact for customers' architect and engineers in coordination with sales and project integration teams.


• Support marketing and product development on an as needed basis.


• Provide feedback on building cost & schedule reductions for engineering proposals, and propose alternate solutions to Engineering when required.


• Stay up to date with new product development to represent the perspective of building and construction issues, review impact of new engineering developments on building cost and schedule.


• Support marketing document generation, when applicable.


• Research and propose cost reductions whenever possible by analyzing the interaction between system and building.

Job Requirements:

• Good knowledge of and technical experience with building construction design methods.


• Skilled with technical writing on complex documents.


• Good knowledge of and professional experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Navis Works, or Procore will be an advantage.


• Customer focused attitude.


• Articulate and skilled in interpersonal communication.


• Fluency in English language both written and spoken.


• Experience working as a General Contractor is preferred.


• Knowledge of Hospital Design or Industrial buildings; preferable with on-site experience.


• Knowledge of Building Radiation Shielding requirement will be an advantage.


• Good Knowledge of Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Design preferred.


• Obtains and completes training plan specific to assigned responsibility as required.


• Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.


• Experience with BIM modeling software and tools will be an advantage.


• Travel required at approximately 50% as required.


• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent to 5 years of related experience.
