The FNA Division Manager & SEC Reportingposition will formulate, develop and update financial policies and procedures for the company in general and specifically for Ferrell North America. Incumbent ensures activities, processes, entries, and reports are performed in a manner and with the timeliness and accuracy required to follow generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and provide reliable and consistent information and data regarding business activities and trends. Further, in conjunction with other teams at corporate and in the field, the Manager assures consistency of data handling to ensure integration of systems to allow appropriate migration of data and information for reporting and compliance required at all governmental levels. In addition, this position will manage all aspects of derivative financial reporting process including ensuring compliance with SOX controls and Dodd-Frank regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Proactively works on initiatives to shorten close timeline and implements operational accounting efficiencies through process improvement, training, automation, and policy re-design.
  • Oversees the month end close process for FNA and booking of journal entries.
  • Assists in preparation of the annual division budget.
  • Participates in the implementation of changes to policies, procedures, and systems to facilitate growth, compliance, and scaling of the business.
  • Partners with Executive Leadership, Controller, and business partners to ensure all new business initiatives are recorded correctly in the general ledger.
  • Takes ownership of complex and new accounting processes, have in-depth understanding of the Company's revenue recognition and inventory accounting.
  • Takes charge of daily operations: prepares and/or reviews appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations; maintains the general ledger system; prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; assists with regulatory reporting as applicable; and other related duties.
  • Utilizes critical thinking skills to analyze general ledger activity and reconciliations for discrepancies that should be brought to the Controller's attention.
  • Assists in providing necessary reports to the Treasury department monthly.
  • Manages the timely and accurate preparation of all external financial reports, including those filed with the SEC on Form 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K, ensuring financial statements are in accordance with GAAP guidelines.
  • Communicates to partners regarding questions/comments around actual results.
  • Responsibilities would also include coaching, training, performance evaluations, oversight of work, and related duties for direct reports. Fosters a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • CPA required.
  • 5+ years' experience in public or private accounting experience.
  • 2-5 years' experience in SEC reporting.
  • Experience managing accounting team.
