Creates, implements, and maintains safety programs and procedures in conjunction with company Safety Director to ensure safe work practices are followed. Applies statistical reports and departmental documentation to educate and promote safety throughout the organization. Creates charts, reports and other presentation materials that are shared amongst the team and with other stakeholders; reviews, monitors, and maintains contract folders, conducts reference checks and runs various screening reports for driving records, reference verifications, incident/accident reports, and DOT and/or other government reporting requirements. Holds regular meetings with stakeholders to report on safety and compliance activities.
Responsibilities
Works in support of Safety and Compliance on project planning, scheduling, benchmarking, insurance statistics, and budget tracking activities.
Assists with applying progress updates, performing earned value analysis, and producing management, safety, and performance reports.
Develops and updates documentation and maintains various collection repositories
Facilitates status meetings including production of agendas and minutes.
Actively engages in compliance monitoring, and compliance with vendor and contractor agreements.
Calls upon expertise with MS Excel and other software tools to perform ad hoc data analysis and reporting.
Facilitates communications between the business, technology experts, and compliance team.
Conducts cross functional analysis of critical business issues as is relates to safety and compliance.
Synthesizes information to identify key trends and issues.
Aligns operational strategies, business processes, operations, and systems to achieve substantial benefit to the company's performance.
Maintains and updates standard operating procedures (SOPs) as required.
Maintains industry-leading knowledge of the tools, systems, and processes available to enhance the Safety and Compliance program.
Drives continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility.
Translates complex statistical and mathematical approaches and resulting data sets into actionable recommendations.
Assists with documenting defensible decision making.
Undertakes a variety of ad hoc projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data management and business operations, including implementation reviews of new systems projects.
Review and analyze compliance monitoring reports and other related source documents for patterns of activity. Follow-up with responsible area for explanations and discussions for appropriate action.
Participate in compliance reviews, projects and training efforts.
Provide guidance to less experienced compliance personnel on regulatory matters, as appropriate.
Promotes an environment that supports diversity.
Discharge the accountabilities set forth in the Compliance manual by proactively assisting management in identifying and containing compliance risk, monitoring, reporting and certification, fostering a compliance culture.
The position routinely interacts with management for assigned businesses, regional and local compliance functions, peers throughout the organization and examination officials conducting regulatory examinations.
Qualifications
College degree or equivalent experience desired.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (safety, transportation, logistics, etc.)
Strong Excel Skills
Accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
A strong understanding and application of technology to business problems.
Project management experience preferred.
Ability to speak to groups and conduct training sessions.
Proficient in PC desktop software, with emphasis on MS Office products.
Ability to work with all levels of management
