Ardent includes: 30 hospitals 4,840 licensed beds 25,000 employees 1,150 employed providers $4.4 billion in revenues We have an exciting opportunity to join our Information Technology team as a Director of Business Intelligence. The Director of the BI Department will provide critical leadership to a team of developers focused on reporting and data movement for the Ardent enterprise. The Director of Business Intelligence will lead full life-cycle projects by providing technical expertise, project management skills and general leadership to a diverse team of data developers. Additionally, the Director of Business Intelligence will be trained on EPIC, our electronic medical records software product solution. As Director of Business Intelligence this position is responsible for leading the design, development, support, and implementations of applications and solutions that support internal and external Ardent Health Services markets and customers. This role will be responsible for understanding the core technical components of Ardent's applications, database, and data integration architectures. This knowledge will allow the Director of Business Intelligence to successfully lead a development team towards solutions that drive increased productivity, engagement, and customer satisfaction. Our Development Team supports diverse applications across the Ardent enterprise spanning many technology platforms and serving all business units. Essential Duties: Provide leadership, technical expertise and support to BI developers on a variety of projects across the Business Intelligence department. Able to communicate, influence, and build trust between the business sponsors, division heads and business analysts on one side and the IT department with its data architects, ETL developers, database administrators, systems analysts and product support personnel on the other. Partner with Corporate, Division, and Facility Leadership to communicate, direct and execute on assigned projects. Lead development teams through SDLC and serve as technical adviser. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects including: scope, schedule, budget, communications, risk management, and issue management using established project management methods such as, Agile, Scrum, Waterfall or Kanban. Coach and mentor developers to maximize performance and encourage personal and professional growth within the Ardent IT organization. Manage a regimented maintenance schedule for applications and ensure all applications are in compliance with Ardent policies. Responsible for operational stability and tuning / management of developed applications and tools. Support Corporate / Divisional resources with functional support and modification / enhancement requests. Respond to service requests in line with established SLAs and turnaround times. Monitor and recommend required upgrades and enhancements to applications and infrastructure components of supported applications. On-call support for critical applications. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer/Data Science or equivalent. 5 years of experience leading teams and enterprise wide BI related solutions through project inception to execution. 7 years of relevant experience designing and developing interactive data driven applications. Proven ability to lead, influence and facilitate problem solving within both IT and Business cross functional project teams Advanced ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams and drive projects to completion using formal Project Management Methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall and/or Six Sigma. Proven track record of developing well-architected solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, support). Team player with a can-do approach to solving complex technical problems Ability to consult with business leaders directly through development of positive working relationships. High degree of critical thinking along with the ability to be an innovative problem solver who works independently in a fast-paced environment. Proven track record of developing solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MS SQL Server or Oracle development Experience in the development of ETL processes, T-SQL (stored procedures, triggers, views) Experience or Certifications in EPIC Data Models/Data Warehousing (Shared Clinicals, Caboodle, or Clarity) Experience with Visual Studio .NET technologies (MSDN, ASP, C#) Experience with SSIS / SSRS architecture Experience with Epic Systems or other EMR/EHR systems Experience working within the healthcare industry Experience with Windows O/S, TFS Experience with MS SharePoint development Experience in Healthcare IT / HL7 data standards. Understanding of RUP, UML, OOAD, TOAD
