Position Summary:
This position is a team member working under the direction of the Program Manager - Cardiac Cath / Electrophysiology Labs to provide quality care that is focused on the comfort and well being of the patient and family. The technologist is responsible for providing technical support during a variety of diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures. This is a technical level position requiring a service-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills for the purpose of delivering care and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups. Independent decision-making is expected in the execution of daily routine duties. Decisions regarding patient care or services require the direction and approval of the Cardiac Cath Lab/EP Registered Nurses. Internal contacts include patient care staff and management. External contacts include physicians and patients.

Minimum Requirements:
Willingness/Ability to gain ACLS designation as outlined in the Cardiac Cath Lab, Standards of Practice Manual
Willingness/Ability to gain RCIS within 18 months of employment. This will include all disciplines from licensed and registry programs
Note: All staff have the opportunity and are encouraged to use the Computer Based Cath Lab Orientation 12 week module program as a tool to become registry ready

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Current Washington State Radiological Technologist licensure from an approved AMA school or Cardiovascular Technologist from an accredited Cardiovascular Training program, registry eligible
OR
Completion of on-the-job training and one of the following licensures/registration:
Current Washington State Respiratory Therapy licensure
Current Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse
Washington State Registered Scrub Tech.
With RCIS registry as a standard for care provision, previous experience and RCIS registry
Refer to CPR and ALS policy grid for requirements
In lieu of Radiological Technologist licensure:
Licensed Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist in Washington State , AND
Obtain and maintain within 90 days of hire a Surgical Technologist License with the State of Washington.
RCIS within 18 months of employment
