Job Title: Pre-Sales Engineer / Solution Engineer

Introduction:

As part of our corporate digital transformation initiative, this role is part of the Marketing Solutions Engineering team. This technical Pre-Sales / Solution Engineer will work with our sales, solutions, services, and broader marketing teams to define and create assets that best showcase how Toshiba software solutions can help modernize and transform our customers' businesses. This opportunity will provide the candidate with the chance to work with a microservices based platform, supporting different pre-sales, enablement, and integration initiatives.

You'll be working alongside other experienced solution engineers, collaborating on activities that include managing and automating deployment environments, creating functional product demonstrations, as well as creating assets to help our customers and business partners better understand and learn how to work with our solutions. Qualified candidates will have strong leadership, are self-motivated, and are able to work in a flexible, fast paced environment with a passion for evangelizing the value our solutions bring to our customers. Qualified candidates must be comfortable working directly with different types of audiences, both business and technical, in different types of settings ranging from virtual meetings to industry events of different scale.

Strong understanding of cloud computing and experience in the management, deployment, and migration of applications/services to public could providers (Azure, GCP, etc.) is preferred.

Responsibilities

This role will have two distinct types of responsibilities. The first is around enabling our business partners' technical teams to work with our solutions. Typical responsibilities include:

• Consulting with business partners to understand their level of proficiency and readiness working with Toshiba solutions, at times providing guidance on potential ways to integrate with those solutions.


• Supporting training and onboarding activities so that partners are ready to work with, integrate to, demonstrate, and or sell Toshiba solutions.


• Work with business partners to create joint demonstration assets for sales engagements or industry trade shows.

The second set of activities revolve around development of software demos based on cloud and Java enterprise technologies. Typical responsibilities include:

• Providing work effort estimates for new function.


• Developing new custom function and providing defect resolution.


• Closely working with sales, services, and solution teams to ensure quality deliverables.


• Contributing content for solution documentation (videos, sample code, etc.)

• Providing installation and configuration support for different audiences (internal and external)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, computer engineering or a related discipline.


• 3+ years developing and/or supporting modern web applications, including cloud and microservices architectures.


• 3+ years of Java-based development, including cloud/enterprise/web-based content.


• 3+ years as a Solution Engineer or similar role working in pre-sales support or client facing environment.


• Experience with cloud-based microservices including development, configuration, deployment, and support.


• Working knowledge of continuous integration and deployment concepts and tools, including git, Jenkins, Maven.


• Experience with revision control source code repositories and Git branching technologies.


• Experience with web development technologies and frameworks (HTML5, JavaScript including frameworks like Vue.JS, XML/JSON)


• Proficiency with Windows- and Linux-based operating systems, including software installation, administration, and scripting.


• Experience with Toshiba software solutions preferred (4690/TCx Sky, SurePOS ACE, TCx Elevate, Elera)
