Group Description:

The Cyber Operations and Analysis Technology (COAT) Group (Group 57) focuses on enabling the warfighter as well as improving the security posture of operational systems through development and deployment of cyber technologies. The COAT team is comprised of cyber security architects, artificial intelligence experts, software engineers and developers, human machine teaming and usable security experts, network security analysts, and systems analysts who work in small teams to perform applied research and develop innovative technical solutions.

Job Description:

Group 57 is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to support IT activities for end-users, test-bed environments as well as classified and unclassified processing systems.

As a Systems Administrator in Group 57, you will need to administer Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Apple Macintosh desktop environments, including Windows 10 and macOS 10.15 or later. You will be responsible for the support, installation, maintenance, repair and upgrade of computer and network equipment. You will review and test new hardware and software applications, and make recommendations for purchases. In addition, you will design and implement shell scripts and other tools to automate processes and provide needed capabilities to technical staff. You will contribute to projects to improve aspects of the computing and network infrastructure; data storage, backups and recovery, network bandwidth and throughput, application installation and management, as well as support and implement configuration management and monitoring of systems and networks. You will collaborate with other personnel within the organization to enhance technology and support practices. You will also maintain regular contact with MIT Lincoln Laboratory IT and security resources, to rapidly reconfigure systems, report, and remediate performance and security issues.

Requirements:


  • BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 4 years experience or equilavent

  • 5-years experience administering Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh desktop environments, including Windows 10 and macOS 10.15 or later

  • 3-years experience administering enterprise GNU/Linux workstation/server environments, includingRed Hat and Ubuntudistributions

  • 3-years experience configuring, deploying and maintaining VMware virtualization environments

  • Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level DoD security clearance

Desired Knowledge:


  • Knowledge of JAMF platform, used to configure and automate distribution of macOS devices

  • CompTIA Security+ Certification

  • Microsoft MCP Certification

  • Experience with AWS GovCloud environments

  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, MS365, OneDrive, and SharePoint platforms
