Synopsis of the role

The Sr Data Scientist will  combine the skills to create new prototypes with the creativity and thoroughness to ask and answer the deepest questions about the data which will come from multiple sources and be in different structures and formats, and to push the boundaries of what is possible with big multi-data analytics/modeling. Experience in credit risk scoring and associated methods is highly beneficial. Qualified candidates will have a background in modeling, data science, machine learning, and / or distributed computing.

What You’ll Do 

• Be an integral part of the Data Science Multi Data Innovation team that works closely with internal clients in all phases of the prototype development.




• Integrate diverse data sources, data types and data structures into solutions and Work with key stakeholders and understand their needs to develop advanced solutions or improve existing solutions around data and analytics.




• Develop analytical approaches to meet business requirements; this involves translating requests into use cases, test cases, preparation of training data sets and iterative product development




• Work in a cross-functional, matrix organization, at times under ambiguous circumstances.




• Mine Big Data and other unstructured data to tap untouched data sources and deliver insight into new and emerging solutions and Research innovative data solutions to solve real market problems.

Qualifications 

• 5-7 years of professional experience as a data scientist or statistical modeler in at least one of the following: identity and fraud, credit risk, telecommunications, financial services, payment, ecommerce, B2B or B2C, marketing, insurance, or security analytics arena.




• Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science , Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics or other related discipline




• Mastery in Python and SQL is a must




• Excellent problem solving skills which may include data cleaning, data mining, data clustering, modeling, and pattern recognition methodologies

Extra Points for any of the Following

• Scala, SAS, R, or similar language and experience working in GCP or other cloud analytics platform 




• Experience working with very large datasets, knowledge of distributed computing tools (Spark, MapReduce, Big Query, Hive, Apache Mahout etc.)




• Proven experience of developing Risk and Marketing models using R or a similar statistical tool
