About the Position

Maintains the security of hospital patients, staff and visitors while interacting appropriate with unit staff.



Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a Mental Health setting preferred.

1. Enforce agency policies and maintain a visible presence on campus.

2. Provide security support to staff.

3. Provide first response to any emergency situations occurring on campus.

4. Monitors the parking lot and physical facility.

5. Supports a system-wide understanding of trauma prevalence, impact and trauma informed care.

6. Fosters healing, hopeful, honest and trusting relationships for consumers and employees; Values consumer voice, choice and self-advocacy.

7. Demonstrates a commitment to cultural competence.

8. Promotes a safe, calm and secure environment with supportive care and family-driven services that are trauma specific and promote recovery and wellness.

9. Other duties as assigned.

10. Follows organization infection control policies and procedures. At risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens.

11. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

14. Demonstrates professionalism at all times.

15. Coordinates and cooperates with staff in all levels of the organization, Navos clients, and the public.

16. Possesses the knowledge, values, attitude and skills to create a trauma-informed, safe, trusting healing environment that respects the perspectives and experiences of the individuals, families, staff and communities we serve with safety and healing.

17. Leads staff and patients in fire and code gray drills as scheduled.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
