SALARY SUPPLEMENT COUNSELOR at University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma

Job Description:

The salary supplement program Counselor is responsible for implementing the salary supplement program at the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development. The Counselor will review applications to determine program eligibility, process approvals and denials, and provide counseling to participants on how to reach the next level of the salary supplement scale. Occasional travel will be required. The Counselor reports to the Project Lead.

Required Education: Bachelor Degree AND:


  • 12-24 months experience in professional development systems, salary supplement programs,or childcare

 

Skills:


  • Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English

  • Basic math skills

  • Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions

  • Basic computer skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines

  • Strong initiative to solve problems

  • Customer service

  • None

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions, grasp objects with fingers or hands, and grasp objects with fingers or hands Ability to communicate, including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others Ability to lift 30 pounds Ability to sit for long periods of time Ability to work effectively with frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines, busy periods and a high volume of public contact

 

Departmental Preferences:


  • Experience working with a salary supplement program or similar type of program

  • Knowledge of Oklahoma Professional Development Registry

  • Knowledge of Oklahoma Child Care Licensing Requirements

  • Knowledge of Oklahoma Reaching for the Stars program

 

Supervision: No Supervisory Duties
