What you’ll do:

In this role:

• Manage the company’s Environment, Health, and Safety programs across multiple locations, determine their effectiveness, make recommendations for improvements to policies and procedures.

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (including OSHA, CAL-OSHA, DIR, and ISO).

• Manage safety committee meetings and safety committee to address and abate safety hazards.

• Conduct various Audits to ensure safe work environments according to regulatory bodies. 

• Evaluate, assess, and alter safety procedures and policies for the benefit of employees and clients.

• Manage companies Workers' Comp program, including but not limited to first reporting, industrial clinic selection, and analysis of injuries. Coordinates with the HR team. 

• Lead injury, incident inquiries, and evaluations.

• Prepare, consult, develop, and maintain all safety training, lectures, and discussions to increase knowledge and competence with both internal and external parties. 

• Maintain safety training database and training records.

• Visit job sites to conduct regular safety audits on personnel, equipment, and materials.

• Research and implement new materials handling processes.

• Research environmental regulations and policies and institute changes to ensure compliance.

• May perform CPR or basic First Aid.

Do you have the following skills?

• Bi-lingual (Spanish) required.

• Bachelor's degree desired in environmental health or safety, but additional certifications and work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

• 3 -5 years' experience in the Manufacturing industry.

• Worker’s compensation experience (claims handling, interfacing with workmen’s comp medical facilities, and workmen’s comp reporting). 

• Strong knowledge of OSHA, Workers' Comp, and ISO standards concerning manufacturing.

• OSHA 30 Certification required.

• CPR and First Aid Certified are highly preferred.

• Ability to train, influence, and motivate team members.

• Required to travel between all three facilities, approximately 25-30%.

• Computer skills (preferred ERP systems, SAP a plus)

• Forklift certified 

This job does have some physical demands as well. Can you:

• Regularly required to sit, walk, and stand. 

• Frequently required to use hands, fingers, feel and reach with hands and arms.  

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 – 50 pounds.  

• Required to talk or hear.  

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

• The noise level in the work environment varies from low to high, depending upon the location.
