Job Description:

The Development Specialist is the administrative backbone of the development and philanthropy team at YSS. The successful candidate will have a passion for providing organizational support to the strategic fundraising efforts of YSS, as well as love managing the YSS donor database in Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge NXT. As the coordinator making sure everything runs smoothly, the Development Specialist must be detail-oriented, extremely organized, and excited to manage, maintain, and leverage the capabilities and reports of Raiser's Edge NXT.

Utilizing critical thinking skills to analyze data, identify giving trends, and streamline the prospect process, this position leads the efforts to maximize the organization's use of Raiser's Edge. This includes the ability to input data accurately, recognize gifts in a timely manner, track donor activity, create reports and serve as a resource for others in the organization, including the Community Engagement Team. This role works cooperatively with finance to audit donor entries and provide accurate information for annual audit. Additionally, the Development Specialist serves as the agency-wide donor stewardship coordinator, ensuring all gifts are appropriately recognized and donor intent is operationalized.
