Summary:
The Director, Manufacturing Engineering leads an engineering team which provides support to Dexcom's internal manufacturing lines located in San Diego. This team is also responsible for development projects related to NPI and product performance. The San Diego Manufacturing Engineering team collaborates with the R&D and Development Engineering teams in order to improve product performance and NPI. Close collaboration occurs between Dexcom's internal and external manufacturing facilities in order to identify cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities; and drive process improvements.

Functional Description: Management
Oversees the activities related to the technical support and sustaining engineering functions in a product manufacturing area. Plans and directs implementation of equipment and process modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques and production yields for existing products. Acts as engineering liaison with product design and development to ensure processes and designs are compatible. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

May direct and control the activities of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups or service areas through senior managers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of those assigned areas evaluation of this area. Language Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
