Senior Learning Specialist 

Overall Function of the Position:

This position is a critical component to the continued success of Chubb’s Agency Education offerings. The primary focus in this role is to facilitate commercial insurance and professional development programs, identify learning needs of our agents & brokers, design and develop strategies to build and deliver tailored programs to meet those identified needs and execute learning strategies in partnership with leadership and the business to ensure the programs align with our internal objectives.  

This position is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of commercial insurance content, including liability, property, automobile, workers compensation and other topics as needed.  In addition, the individual will work with key agent and broker partners on professional development programs, as needed. This includes identifying course objectives, determining various learning solutions, and developing comprehensive materials. This position requires the applicant to learn new content, assimilate that knowledge and transfer the knowledge to learning vehicles such as job aids, classroom materials, and e-learning modules. Strong instructional design and communication skills are required. The candidate will be asked to share examples of developed training materials.

Major Duties/Responsibilities: 

The role of the Senior Learning Specialist will be to:

• Develop and deliver in-person and virtual training programs to our key partners across North America (travel required up to 50% of the time)

• Coordinate program logistics and oversee onsite and virtual delivery of the material

• Flexible and responsive to emerging development needs, resulting from industry changes, demographic

   shifts, and other contributing factors

• Research topics to learn the content

• Work with business partners, clients, and vendors to identify learning needs or gaps

• Review and write objectives for learning needs or gaps.

• Identify all appropriate options for learning deliverables

• Create content for learning materials utilizing a variety of training techniques, this includes creation of job aids, presentations, leader’s guides and on-line learning modules or working to ensure we have identified the proper vendor to deliver the material.

• Develop learning materials in a variety of programs such as; Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and others

• Ensure learning is supported with appropriate learning tools such as handouts, participant guides or job aids.

• Ability to work independently is required

• Ability to travel to offsite locations for learning programs (up to 50% of the time)

• Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principals

• Demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire knowledge in a technical area

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and virtual learning platforms

• Ability to visually represent ideas and concepts

Education & Experience

• e-Learning/instructional design experience is required 

• College degree is preferred

• Insurance knowledge and marketing experience is a plus
